We're making the move back to France to open the best b&b in la france profonde

About Us

I’m Suze aka @festinagirl and I live in Bexhill with my husband Paul, a psychotherapist, our 6 year old son and my mum, without whom life would be a damn sight more difficult.

Until recently I worked in local government – now I’m working out my notice and realising that this is a golden opportunity to do something I’ve dreamed about for a long time – return to France and run a cycling themed b&b and share my love for la france profonde with new and old friends.

Scared? Definitely. Excited about a new chapter in the rollercoaster that’s been my life so far – actress, slacker, teacher, governess, agent provocateur in the wonderful soap opera that is pro cycling – oh yes

  1. Thanks for visiting and following my blog. I love the name of yours and will be following with a lot of interest as your venture unfolds!

  2. I stumbled on your blog via Twitter. We are a young Belgian couple and moved to the Gascony area, south of the Gers, two and a half years ago. While working other jobs, we also have a small B&B for cyclists and I do guided tours in the rolling hills of the Gers and the Pyrenees. I recognize many of your ideas in what we do: eggs from our own chickens, vegetables and jams from the garden, homemade bread, …
I wish you the best of luck in France! Running a B&B won’t make you wealthy, but it will make you rich in life. Enjoy!

    • That sounds idyllic – would love to come and stay, in the name of research of course 😉 Love your sentiment too – being rich in life is much more important than having thousands in the bank, though that would be nice too 😉 Continued success with your venture – it sounds idyllic!
